Fall Classes

September 13- November 19, 2010 Monday: RECYCLE THAT… Get ready to collect, sort and then and build cool things with recycled materials!  Using recycled and found materials, we will be making 3D sculptures, clothing, create forts, murals and toys. Be ready to use a hammer and nails, work with wood, cardboard and other construction materials. Tuesday: TRAVEL THE WORLD Get ready!  Become an adventurer! We’ll make our own passports and travel to a new exciting country each day.  We’ll explore the culture, food and animals of each place and make drawings, paintings and sculptures from what we find! Wednesday: DRAWING AND PAINTING Learn how to draw from life, draw from your imagination, paint using watercolors and acrylics on paper, wood and canvas.  We will learn how to stretch and gesso our own canvases.  This class is for artists that would like to learn more formal art techniques and skills while combining it with imagination, story telling and observation. Thursday: PUPPETEERS Become a puppeteer!  We’ll create puppets of all kinds, paint scenery and make costumes. Show your friends and family your shadow box puppets, created a wooden doll puppet and create a robot puppet that dances and moves.  We will be writing scripts, making music makers and putting on a production at the end of the class.
